What is calibrating?

Calibrating is a mathematical calculation used to find the relationship between two unknown quantities that is used in industries such as IT and manufacturing.

Calibrating is often performed when operating industrial technology machines in order to provide hydrostatic and electromagnetic radiation measurements.

Calibrating therefore ensures that the pressure, temperature and radiation of machinery is suitable for optimisation.

The word ‘calibration’ was derived from the word ‘caliber’ during the American Civil War in the mid-nineteenth century where calculations and descriptions of artillery led to the word being used.
