What is CPU?

CPU, or central processing unit, is a microprocessor embedded in every single computer that literally processes information.

This information is basically instructions the CPU extracts from decoding the code in programs and other documents to carry out functions and tasks in the computer.

Without a CPU, the computer basically would not answer to any of your commands or work at all as we are used to.

CPUs have at their core fetch, decode, execute, and writeback functions.
