What is CRP?

CRP, on its longer form capacity requirements planning, is about understanding business needs and the level of resources in order to keep the business running.

As Gartner explains,  capacity requirements planning is the process of specifying the level of resources (facilities, equipment and labour force size) that best supports the enterprise’s competitive strategy for production.

Capacity requirements planning helps businesses to ultimately understand the impact of future changes in a company's IT estate and how to model and adapt to the needed changes by looking at long-term considerations that best serve the business.
