Since the original Macintosh in 1984, Apple has released several other computers under the same brand on a yearly basis.

These include, for example, Macintosh 512K (1984), Macintosh XL (1985), Macintosh LLx (1988), Macintosh Classic (1990), Macintosh Colour Classic II (1993), Power Macintosh G3 (1999), iMac (1999), MacBook and Mac Pro (2006), and MacBook 12in retina display (2016).

The computers run on Apple’s own operating system, Mac OS.

The first Macintosh sold 72,000 units in its first 100 days after being released. Since 1984, more than 80 million Mac PCs have been sold worldwide.
