What is SPEC?

SPEC stands for Standard Performance Evaluation Corporation, which was set up in order to assess the performance of computers.

As a result, this supervises computers so that they are operating to the correct standards.

The process of assessment is conducted through looking at the computers in comparison to similar PC models. This results in individual models being relatively assessed when comparing various chip and system architectures.
